Abstract

272,926. Siemens - Schuchertwerke Ges. June 19, 1926, [Convention date]. Heating air. - In air heaters composed of metal plates 1 separated by spacing strips 2<1>, 2" at the sides and 6', 6<11> at top and bottom, flanges. 7<1> 5<1>, 5<11> are provided on the plates which overlap the spacing strips. Further spacing strips 3<1>, 3" serve to guide the air and hot gases, and the plates are built up into units by bolts pasing through holes 4. The units are placed in a box 12 and sealed against, the side walls of the box by bars 9 forced against the edges of the units by springs 10. The units rest upon a grating at the bottom of the box so that their weight forces the flanges 5<11> tightly against the strips 6<11>. and a grating may also rest upon the top of the heater. A flue III is arranged between the units I and II and is controlled by a damper to bye-pass the hot gases when a lower temperature of the air is required. One of the side walls of the box 12 is detachable for removal of the units.
