Abstract

272,249. Telefunken Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie. June 4, 1926, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.- Secondary electron emission from a control grid or other electrode is reduced by arranging near the grid an auxiliary electrode in the form of a metal cage, ring or coil, partly surrounding the grid and maintained at a potential equal to or less than that of the cathode. The auxiliary electrode may be connected with the cathode by a lead within the bulb, or by a circuit outside the bulb. The length of the auxiliary electrode is preferably one-sixth of that of the control grid. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also an auxiliary electrode H extending along the length of the control grid G and mounted between the grid and anode A. The electrode is connected with the cathode F by a lead 1. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
