Operating doors by springs. - An adjustable door-closing spring for motor-car doors comprises an expansion helical spring A into the coils at the ends of which are screwed the members B', B for engagement respectively with a steel plate secured to the dashboard or side of the car and a plate C secured to the door. The plate C has openings C' with any one of which the member B may be engaged, according to the power required to slam the door.
