Vehicle-window opening and closing apparatus; sashes balanced by springs.-Self-locking operating means are provided on the spindle of the handle and operating lever as described in the parent Specification and combined with the balancing device described in Specification 209,410 for sliding vehicle windows and the like. The operating handle o is carried on the spindle of the window-lifting lever b and actuates that lever through a self-locking device n of the kind described in Specification 201,909. The operating handle and self-locking device may be mounted on a separate spindle at the top of the well of the door and be operatively connected by gearing to a lever equivalent to the two-armed lever f.
