Abstract

267,265. Hillebrand, P., and Olson, A., (trading as Werdohler Pumpenfabrik P. Hillebrand). Jan. 25, 1926. Cam-actuated pumps; stroke, varying; revolving-cylinder pumps.-In a pump for artificial silk &c. comprising a revolving drum d containing longitudinal bores g in which pistons h are reciprocated by means of two inclined plates n, o, one of which is fixed while the other is supported only at its centre and is kept parallel to the fixed plate by the piston heads w, the pistons pass through slots &c, in the plate o and have ball heads engaging between the two plates. The central support s of the plate o may be adjusted longitudinally by a screw u to take up clearance between the plates. In another form, the plate n is centrally supported 'by an adjustable screw, and the plate o rests on an inclined ring. In another form, the plate n is supported against the cover a by a threaded cap screwed into the cover, and the cover is tiltable about a horizontal edge to vary the inclination of the plates and the stroke of the pistons.
