Abstract

Roofs consist of are-shaped girders arranged side by side, and braced by horizontal interconnecting members 3 at the ridge portion. The bracings may be constituted by triangular strut frames having members 3, 6, 7, all the struts 6, 7 being connected to trusses 4, which are arranged between certain of the girders 1. Strut frames 8 are provided at the bearing points of the girders. Each girder 1 may be formed in a single piece or of two hinged parts, and in the former case a lattice girder interconnects the transverse girders at the roof ridge. The girders are arranged at small distances apart so that the roof covering, when in the form of plates, may be directly secured to the girders. When the roof is formed of reinforced concrete, the centering may be supported from the girders.
