Class 20(4) A prefabricated concrete girder of rectangular C-shape has upper and lower flanges a, b, Fig. 1, of equal length and a small rearwardly projecting ledge d at the lower edge of its back face, the edge of the flange b and ledge d being of similar shape so that a symmetrically-sided intermediate member g, Fig. 2, may be supported on the flange b of one girder and ledge d of an adjacent girder, the girders also being suitable for arrangement in pairs face to face with members g between each pair of girders, and also for alternate face to face and back to back arrangement of the girders without intermedite members. Stiffening ribs f may be provided' and holes provided for reinforcing members which may be prestressed.
