Abstract

266,937. Ralston, F., V. April 28, 1926. Receptacles fitted to facilitate use of ink solvent.-A device for cleaning the character bars of typewriters comprises a brush 3, Fig. 1, and a fibrous block 4, placed side by side and secured to one end of a stem 2, the other end of which is provided with a stopper 1 adapted to fit the bottle containing a liquid solvent. The stem, as shown, is made of twisted wires bent backwardly at 5 to clamp the block 4 in place. In a modification, the ends of the wires are untwisted and straddle the fibrous block. In the construction shown in Fig. 5, the stem 16 has forked ends connected by a wall 19 to form a channel for the block. The wall has notches 22, 23 to receive the bent ends of the twisted wire stem of a detachable brush.
