Abstract

264,606. Miller, G. J. Oct. 30, 1925. Implements with adjustable tool frames; balance weights, arrangement of.-In seed drills, steerage hoes, &c. in which the coulters are carried by coulter levers on lever frames pivoted at their front ends, manually-adjustable counterweighted means are provided for varying the downward pressure of the coulters due to their weight so that they may work at any required depth in the soil and yet be free to follow the irregularities of the land. The coulter a is shown attached to a lever frame b pivoted to lugs d on a transverse frame bar e. Above it is a pivoted two-armed lever f, one arm of which is connected by a flexible connection h to the lever frame b, while the other arm carries a movable balance weight i.
