Windscreens.-In a motor-vehicle side window or screen of the kind which is pivoted so as to' move in its own plane and adapted to be lowered into a recess or compartment when not in use, the pivot 8 is arranged on a flap 5, which is hinged on a vertical edge 6 to the vehicle door 2 and forms a closure for the housing recess 3. The lower edge of the window or screen is provided with a supporting plate 11 having a hole 12 engageable by the pivot pin 8 and on each side thereof two curved slots or additional holes 13, 14, which are engageable in an interchange- .able manner by a clamping screw 16 carried by the flap 5 and by a projection 15 on the door, so that three points of support are provided for the screen either in its raised or lowered position. In order to lower the screen from its erected position, the screw 16, which also engages a nut 17 on the upper edge of the door, is unscrewed, the flap 5 is hinged inwardly to disengage the plate 11 from the projection 15, the screen is pivoted downwardly, and the flap 5 again closed. Additional screens, such as a rear extension screen 9, may be hinged to the main screen 4.
