263,832. Singer Manufacturing Co., (Assignees of Geissler, E.). Dec. 26, 1925, [Convention date]. Concealed hinges.-A sewing machine table with a hinged panel 5 flush with and closing an aperture in the table top 1 has the machine supporting hinge secured to the top adjacent the free edge of the panel so that the attaching flanges 15 on the underside of the top extend beyond the edge of the aperture at 16 to support the panel. Tha hinge comprises a body portion with side walls 12 spaced by pins 13, 14 and carrying the attaching flanges 15 and also an intermediate U member 17 secured by a transverse pin 18 extending into the grooves 19 in the walls. Hinged on a pin 20 carried by the intermediate member 17 is a third hinged member 21 from which projects a pin 22 extending into a hole 23 in the sewing machine bed-plate 24 and secured by a set-screw 25 seated in a groove 26 in the pin. The bed plate 24 may be lifted to and beyond the horizontal. The hinged panel is in, three sections 5a, 5<b>, 5<c> hinged at 6, 7, 8 to fold as shown and be held by a spring clip 10 holding a pin 9.
