Modulating systems ; thermionic generators.- In a system for modulating high - frequency electric currents employing a master oscillator 7 controlling a power amplifier 4, an iron-cored modulating-choke 13 is inserted in the oscillatory circuit 8, 9, 10 of the master oscillator or in a circuit between the master oscillator and the power amplifier. The modulating-choke circuit is coupled to the grid circuit of the power amplifier by a transformer 14 or is connected to the grid circuit by a condenser. Alternatively the master oscillator is coupled to a tuned circuit which is coupled to the grid circuit of the amplifying-valve and includes the modulating-choke. The master oscillator may be an oscillating valve, a high-frequency machine or a piezo-electric crystal oscillator.
