260,640. Johnson, J. Y., (Badische Anilin & Soda Fabrik). May 2, 1925. Liquid fuels.-Liquid hydrocarbons or liquid substitution products thereof are added as a diluent to iron carbonyl in order to render the latter less inflammable and less liable to selfignition. Up to 80 per cent of diluent may be added. In an example iron carbonyl is mixed with an equal part of benzene or gasolene of 0.75 specific gravity. As examples of other diluents, halogenated hydrocarbons and alcohols are also mentioned. Specifications 226,731 and 260,639 are also referred to.
