Abstract

259,044. Reepmaker, T. L. Oct. 26, 1925. Spray burners.-A liquid-fuel burner comprises a fitting 11 having a fuel inlet 16 and a compressed air inlet 15 and containing a venturi tube 14 controlled by a needle valve 20. The compressed air passing through the venturi tube 14 induces a flow of fuel through ducts 19 and the inlet 16 from a float-controlled reservoir and injects it in an atomized condition into a conical chamber 21 in which it is ignited by means of a sparking plug 22. The burning mixture is then mixed with sufficient low pressure air for complete combustion in a conical chamber 23 formed as a continuation of the chamber 21 and provided with slots 24 arranged so as to communicate a whirling motion to the air. The chamber 23 is surrounded by a casing 25 formed with an air inlet 26.
