Abstract
258,091. Cross, J. F. Sept. 23, 1925. Pottery, throwing and turning.-Spring latches are provided between the parts of a pottery mould to lock them in assembled position. Figs. 2 and 4 illustrate the application to a two-part horizontally-divided mould, a pair of latches being provided at opposite sides of the mould. The two parts lock automatically when the upper part is dropped on to the lower part. The lower part carries the catch plate furnished with the recess e<8> which is engaged by the part e<7> of the spring latch carried by the upper part. An extension e<10> of the spring passes through a hole in the latch and is used to hold the latter in the disengaged position when required. The two members of the spring latch are bent to form inter-engaging positioning lugs d<2> to facilitate correct assembling. Similar latches are shown applied to threepart vertically-divided moulds.
