Abstract
256,342. Hogg, H. May 14, 1925. Special yarns, producing; rollers and roller heads.-In the production of knopped yarns of different colour or character, means are provided for enabling knops, of either colour or character, to be produced in any order and at any intervals. The delivery rollers for the yarns are geared through change gears 7 to spindles 5 and these are driven from a suitable rotating shaft of the twisting frame. The motion is transmitted at various speeds by means of suitable clutches and suitable gearing. These are selected by bowls 16 on a driven pattern chain 17. The bowls 16 .engage their respective shoes 15 on T-levers 11<1>, 13<1>, which, by engagement with sliding cam members 11, 13 put the respective clutches into and out of operation. The neutral position of the cam members 11, 13 is ensured by the use of a second pair of shoes 15<1> of smaller length than the shoes 15.
