Abstract

256,100. Lambert, J. Nov. 18, 1925. Treadle mechanism; linkwork with toothed wheel gearing. - In bicycle or like driving mechanism, the rear wheel spindle forms. the intermediate fulcrum for slotted levers A, the front ends of which are connected to the pedal cranks K while the rear ends carry pins F which move in radial slots in cranks C each driving a toothed wheel H which meshes with and drives a wheel J with roller teeth secured to the hub of the road wheel. The slots in the levers A work on balls or rollers carried by side plates or the like pivoted on the road wheel axle. A similar arrangement is interposed between the pins F and the slots in the arms C.
