Securing brushes on shafts.-The stock j of a brush for a cotton-combing machine is mounted on a shaft c by means of sockets a secured to the shaft by grub screws g, each socket being formed outwardly of cylindrical form and having a conical cavity d to receive the end of the stock. Two or more tapered projections e extending into the cavity d engage recesses i formed in the end of the stock or left between sections of the stock.
