Abstract

Producer plant.-In a watergas plant adapted for back running, a swing valve is arranged between ports leading from the producer and the superheater respectively to the wash-box, and the means which actuate the swing valve also control a steam valve. The producer 5 is connected by pipes 17, 18 with a valve casing arranged above the wash-box 8, and the superheater is connected with the casing by a pipe 14. The openings of the pipes 14, 17 are closed in turn by the swing valve which comprises a pair of plates 23 joined centrally by a web having a spherical part 24 through which passes a bolt 22 and secures the valve to a yoke 20; the bolt bears against the central part only of the aperture so as to permit a limited universal movement. The yoke is secured to a shaft 19 mounted within the casing and connected by a lever 28 with a shaft 29 reciprocated by a hydraulic cylinder 31. A lever 36 at the end of the shaft 29 controls a valve 35 to admit steam to either of the pipes 14 and 17. The valve 23 is kept clean by a water spray 37 which supplies the wash-box.
