218,985. Superheater Co., (Assignces of Brown, R. M.). July 11, 1923, [Convention date]. Smoke-tube superheaters. - In a smoke-tube superheater, the passage of superheated steam from the dry steam chamber to the steam supply pipe is controlled by a number of comparatively small adjustable valves, which are opened in a predetermined order. Steam flows from the dry steam chamber 8 of a superheater to the steam supply pipes 12 through valves 15 having seatings fitted in openings in a partition 14. The valves are operated by short levers 22 on a rod 21 passing through the header and adapted to be rooked by a lever 27, to which is connected a rod terminating in the cab of the engine. The ends of the short levers embrace projections on the valves. Each projection has an adjustable head. The valves may be fitted in chambers separate from the header and connected thereto by pipes.
