Abstract
253,087. Maschinenfabrik Augsburg- N³rnberg Akt.-Ges. June 2, 1925, [Convention date]. Rotary machines; printing apparatus combined with drying-apparatus.-In a rotary intaglio printing - machine the printed sheets are dried during delivery by transferring the printed sheet from the impression cylinder a to a delivery cylinder which has a periphery approximately twice the length of the sheet. The printed sheet is taken by grippers c and is received cn the first half d of the delivery cylinder printed side downwards. It is then transferred printed side outwards to grippers e of a heated drying-cylinder f, from which it is taken by grippers g on the second half h of the delivery cylinder, which is preferably provided with cooling means i to assist the ink to set. The first half d of the delivery cylinder may be electrically heated to assist in the drying of the ink. The delivery of the sheets is completed by delivery apparatus k.
