Abstract
249,689. Kipping, T. April 21, 1925. Couplings for tractors. - In tractors fitted with an incLined track such as 6 adapted to raise the trailer by engaging rollers 24 on the fore-carriage of the trailer, Fig. 2, when the tractor is backed springs 18 are interposed between the rollers and the trailer frame while the load is taken darect by the rear axle 5 of the tractor. The axle 20 is engaged by a hook 13, while a hook 17 is engaged by a member 26. A pivoted frame 21 carrying the road wheels 23 is normally locked by a catch 25, but on the approach of the tractor the catch is disengaged by a member 11 and the wheels 23 and frame 21 are turned about the axle 20. Disengagement is effected by a traction cable 27.
