Check elastic valves ; check valves usable as stop valves.- A combined stop and check or non-return valve of the kind having a conical valve member and seat a, b has the seat fitted with a packing washer c having a greater angle than the seat so that when the valve is partly open the packing washer is at a distance from the seat and can co-operate with the valve member to act as a non-return valve. In a modification the washer is fixed to the valve member and in both forms the washer may be made flat.
