Abstract
245,424. Rempt Geb. Dec. 31, 1924, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block. - The breech-body of a repeating shot-gun extends over the top and overhangs towards the other side 2, leaving a slot 3 for a rear locking lug 10 on the bolt and for the operating handle 17. The rear of the slot is closed by a plate 4 and the handle has a slot 18, Fig. 6, which engages the front edge of the plate when the bolt is retracted. The bolt has a non-rotary head 15<1> which is prevented from rotating by a lug 7<1> and by the extractor 15 which engage corresponding guide slots. A front locking key 7 on the bolt slides in a slot 5 on .the body. The magazine comprises a box mounted on the trigger guard 31. The lifter 26 has lugs 29 projecting through slots on the front and rear walls of the magazine. The spring 28 is formed of two or more V parts joined together. The cartridges are retained in the magazine by a lever 23, shown in under plan in Fig. 4, pivoted beneath the breech body on a vertical screw 21. The lever is swung aside to release the top cartridge, when the bolt is retracted, by the front locking lug 7 which strikes a projection 25 on the rear of the lever. The firing mechanism comprises a vertically moving sear 19 pivoted to the trigger 20 and a sliding firing-pin carrying a cocking piece 11 adapted to be engaged by the sear.
