Abstract

Jacks.-In a jack of the kind having a handle for raising the load by a rolling movement, or movement of partial rotation, against the ground, the pillar a is provided with a lateral extension d forming a ground engaging cam portion which is so arranged that the load is substantially vertically over the cam portion during the raising operation. The base and cam surface have ribs f, and the end o of the detachable handle n is bent downwards so that it is near the ground when the jack is supporting the load in the raised position. An adjusting screw may be provided in the end o and turned until it engages the ground.
