Abstract

242,099. Croft, C. M. Dec. 5, 1924. Incandescent gas burners. - An inverted gas burner is provided with a translucent, preferably silica or fireproof glass, globe 13, which substantially hides the burner from view so that, when the burner is alight, the globe appears to surround an incandescent electric lamp, a shield 14 being provided for deflecting the combustion products away from the air-inlets 5. The globe is formed with lugs 12 for engaging bavonet slots 11 in a spider 10 to which the nipple 8 is screwed. The shield 14 rests on a flange 15 on the mixing-tube 4. The hit-and-miss air and nipple regulators are operated by handles 7, 9 respectively, which project above the spider 10. The nozzle 2 is connected to the mixing-tube 4 by an internally-threaded ring 3.
