Abstract

933,591. Radiating burners. AIROIL BURNER CO. (G.B.) Ltd. Oct. 6, 1961 [July 8, 1960], No. 23970/60. Class 75 (1). A radiant burner comprises a gas and air supply nozzle 1 having circumferential holes 10 which direct combustible gases over a convex or conical surface 9 of a refractory block 3. Two circles of aerofoil-shaped nodules 8 on the surface 9 are disposed concentrically around the nozzle 1. The nozzle is supplied with primary air by a pipe 5 and with gas by a pipe 4. A secondary air intake 7 is provided. The block 3 is made in parts and may be mounted with clearance between them.
