Abstract

240,162. Telefunken Ges. fiir Drahtlose Telegraphie. Sept. 16, 1924, [Convention date]. Addition to 239,534, [Class 38 (ii), Electric currents, Converting &c.], and 239,872. Magnetic modulating systems.-In a method of signalling employing a frequency transformer comprising a conductor. surrounded by a thin layer of iron as described in the parent Specification, the multiplied frequency circuit II is connected to the transformer " winding " a<1>, a<2>, a<1>1, a<1>2 at the points k1, k2, at which the auxiliary magnetizing circuit, which may comprise low forequency alternating current or a telephone or key controlled battery circuit, is connected to the transformer. By this arrangement the necessity for a high inductance in the generator circuit I for eliminating from this circuit current of multiplied frequency is removed. Where, however, the condenser C1 in the circuit of the generator g is variable step by step, a small variable inductance sufficient to bridge the steps may be provided. This inductance may, however, be dispensed with by making the self inductance of the transformer windings variable. Figs. 4 and 5 show alternative arrangements in which the four limbed transformer shown in Fig. 3 is replaced by one consisting of two limbs.
