July 24, 1924, [Convention date] Alloys. - Bearing metal alloys consisting of lead with the addition of alkali metals with or without alkaline earth metals contain 0.05 per cent or less of lithium together with 0.5 per cent or less of sodium; 0.1 per cent or less of potassium may be added, and further 0.5 per cent or less of alkaline earth metal. A small amount of one or more of the following elements may also be present : copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, magnesium, bismuth, cadmium, arsenic, antimony, tin, aluminium, silicon, selenium, phosphorus, and sulphur. The alloys may be made by electrolysis, by the use of metal powders, by the reduction of a salt, by causing the metals to diffuse into each other at a temperature below their melting-point, or by the use of intermediate alloys. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the percentage of lithium may be 0.1 or less. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
