Abstract

236,974. Pfrommer, B. March 14, 1924. Knitted fabrics; parallel machines.-A ribbed plated fabric is made from three threads a, b, c, a being a plating thread fed to all needles, and b, c being ground threads fed each to alternate needles. The fabric so formed does not curl at the edges when cut. If the plating thread a is of a non-felting kind, felting of the fabric as a whole can be avoided, and by choosing threads of different colours, various colour effects are obtainable. The stitch-drawing and other cams and the thread guides are so arranged that the thread a is first laid on each needle, and immediately after the threads b, c are laid, one on one set of needles and the other thread on the other set.
