Abstract
236,547. Platt, J. W. & H. July 1, 1924, [Convention date]. Carding - engines. -The doffer E, Fig. 3 is clothed with a wire-like foundation strip H, Figs. 5 and 6, provided with straight rigid teeth H<1> which taper from bottom to top to provide needlelike points, such as is described in Specification 207,429, [Class 120 (iii), Yarns &c.]. The swift C is clothed as usual with bent teeth C<1> and is kept clean by the doffer. The strip H has a slightly thicker base to space the teeth apart when the strip is wound on the plain surface of the doffer.
