Battens, strengthening.-Cardboard and like lidded boxes are strengthened by wooden br other battens which are arranged upon each of two opposite sides and upon the inner surface of the lid so that each lid batten 4 is supported upon the ends of a pair of side battens 5. Similar battens 7 may be provided upon the bottom of the box. Specifications 18453/99 and 13959/10 are referred to.
