Corner joints; materials, special, for boxes.-A box, crate, &c. comprises a bottom consisting of two longitudinal border battens a and two transverse border battens b with a covering of interlaced wood veneer strips d, sides each consisting of a. longitudinal border batten e and two transverse border battens f with a similar covering g and ends each consisting of a single longitudinal border batten h connected to a similar casing i, all the coverings being on the inner surfaces of the box etc.; there is thus no unnecessary duplication of the members of the framework of the box. An intermediate transverse batten j may be applied to the bottom and the top border may be stayed by wood veneer corner-pieces k. The lid consists: of two longitudinal border battens connected by wood veneer strips and an intermediate longitudinal strip the ends of which project to engage wire, loops o secured to the battens h.
