Electric appliances; light and other radiations, treating diseases with.-A quartz mercury-vapour lamp for medical &c. use is supplied with high-frequency current in order to increase the emission in the ultra-violet region. As shown, the alternating current supply 5 is converted into highfrequency current by means of a transformer 6, an inductance 7. a spark gap 9 and capacities 8. The apparatus for producing highfrequency oscillations may be used without the lamp for diathermy and like medical treatment.
