425,803. Electromedical apparatus for producing artificial fever. LEROY, R. P. E., 1, Rue Cabanis, Paris. May 22, 1934, No. 16293. Convention date, May 23, 1933. [Class 81 (ii)] In apparatus for producing artificial fever comprising a high-frequency circuit with electrodes not in contact with the body to be treated, the electrodes are so disposed that their mutual capacity is quite small compared with the capacity between each of them and the body. Figs. 3 and 5 show typical arrangements. By making one electrode 3, Fig. 5, of small size an intense local heating of one region 5 of the body may be effected together with a general heating of lower intensity. Wave-lengths of 12-25 metres are mentioned. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the separation of the application circuit B, Fig. 6 (Cancelled), from the generating circuit A, the energy being transferred by induction between the coils 1, 2, optionally with the interposition of an intermediate circuit. Several application circuits can thus be operated by a single generating circuit. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
