Abstract

233,920. Dexter, L. A. July 7, 1924. Latches, sliding; handles, attacling.-A latch bolt 3 mounted in a cylindrical housing 1 is operated by a cylindrical follower 9 with opposed openings 10, leaving operating portions 12 which make contact with the sides of a V-shaped lug 7 on the bolt projecting into a cut-away portion 6 of the bolt in which the follower 9 is located. Rotation of the follower in either direction withdraws the bolt which is shot by a spring 2. The follower has a rib 13 which engages between projections 22 on the spindle of the handle which is secured by a flange 18 on a screwed-on rose 17 engaging between flanges 20, 21 on the handle 19. The latch can be used on either side of a door.
