Abstract

232,415. Vierengel, M. April 28, 1924. Paper and like bags; securing bags, special means for.- A closing-device for envelopes or envelope bags, which may serve as a carrying-means,com. prises a tongue 6, formed integrally with, or attached to, the body of the envelope, and having a hole 8 at its free end to serve as a finger or hand grip. The tongue is passed through a slit 4 in the closing-flap 2, and then through a second slit 3 at or near the fold-line of the flap, so as to project beyond the envelope. The slits may be reinforced with strengthening material, and a tab or tabs 9 may be provided to facilitate insertion and withdrawal of the tongue.
