Abstract
Chromium compounds of dyestuffs, which dye wool in fast level tints, are produced by interaction of a triarylmethane dye which can be chromed and a chromium compound of an azo dyestuff which can be chromed; they may also be produced directly on the fibre by dyeing with a mixture of the said dyes or successively therewith. Suitable triarylmethane dyes are Eriochromazurol B, Eriochromcyanine R, Chrome Violet, and those described in Specifications 172,177 and 191,854. According to examples the chromium compound of the azo dyestuff from 1-amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulphonic acid and a - or b -naphthol (example 1 of Specification 191,972) is boiled with Eriochromazurol B, or Eriochromcyanine R, or the dyestuff from 1-napthol-2-carboxylic acid and tetrachlormethane (Specification 172,177), and the product salted out.ALSO:Goods dyed with the chromium compounds of dyestuffs produced by inter-action of a triarylmethane dye which can be chromed and a chromium compound of an azo dyestuff which can be chromed; the compounds may also be produced directly on the fibre by dyeing with a mixture of the said dyes or successively therewith. Suitable triarylmethane dyes are Eriochromazurol B, Eriochromcyanine R, Chrome Violet, and those described in Specifications 172,177 and 191,854, [both in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.]. According to examples (1) the chromium compounds of the azo dyestuff from 1-amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulphonic acid and a - or b -naphthol (example 1 of Specification 191,972, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.]) is boiled with Eriochromazurol B, or Eriochromcyanine R, or the dyestuff from 1-naphthol-2-carboxylic acid and tetrachlormethane (Specification 172,177, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.]), and the product salted out; (2) goods are dyed with a mixture of the chromium compound of the azo dyestuff from 1-amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulphonic acid and b -naphthol with the dyestuff from 1-naphthol-2-carboxylic acid and tetrachlormethane, or successively with the said dyestuffs.
