Hollow-ware.-The head b of a sheet iron cask a lined with zinc, lead, &c. is welded to the body and to inner and outer head rings c, d by first bending the ring c, and the head and body flanges outwards as shown, and then welding by a flame having a direction approximately parallel to the head plate. The shoulder thus formed provides an abutment for the ring d, which is shrunk on and is further held by a corrugation f.
