Abstract

227,226. Fraser, J. A. Oct. 25, 1923. Locking by positive detents.-The straight brake-lever A, A' is pivoted midway on an axle B carried by a clip C on an underframe member D or on a suspension spring, so that on application of the foot to the arm A' the lever A, A<1> is swung horizontally at right-angles to the plane of rotation of the wheel E and locks between the spokes. A spring G keeps the lever in either adjusted position and a rubber covering F may be fitted to the arm A. Notches on the boss of the lever and on the clip C may assist the spring G and stops may limit the rotation of the lever.
