Abstract
227,083. Thomson, D. Dec. 31, 1923, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Envelopes. - A device for opening envelopes comprises a card A, Fig. 3, having inclined edges B, which is enclosed in the envelops, and can be withdrawn by means of a projecting tab D, so that the inclined edges sever the sealing-flap at the fold. The tab D is accessible through an opening E, Fig. 2, in the front of the envelope, which is formed by a cut-out tongue C. The tongue C is passed over the edge of the card, so as to ensure that the enclosure is inserted on the rear side of the card. Advertisements may be placed on the card.
