Abstract
226,886. Calthrop, E. R. Oct. 2, 1923. Reinforced concrete.-Cellular metal structures and reinforcing skeletons for concrete structures are formed of solid plates, Figs. 1 and 3, or sheets of reticulated metal, the vertical edges b of which are curved in the same or opposite directions and overlapped as shown in Fig. 6, and bolted or otherwise secured together. The horizontal edges c are cut away at the corners and bent in the same or opposite directions to interengage, and have incisions c for equalizing the heights of the plates in each tier. The bases of the cells may be closed by single plates or two or more overlapping sheets flanged to engage the edges c. The invention is applicable to aerial structures, lighthouses, and signal stations, and to reinforced concrete walls, floors, and girders.
