Stencilling; tripping- arrangements; set-off, preventing.-In the apparatus described in the parent Specification, the second printing-cylinder 2 is adapted to occupy either an upper position, as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, or a lower position, so that the sheets may be printed either in different colours on the same side, or on both sides. The pressure-rollers 37, 40 of the two printing-cylinders 1, 2 are held against the cylinders by levers 35, 38 and springs 36, 39, the levers being depressed by rollers 46, 53 to permit the entry of the sheets between the cylinders and rollers. Cams 32 operated by a handle 34 regulate the distance of the roller 37 from the cylinder 1. The spring 39, that controls the lever 38, is attached to a reversible arm 41, so that the spring may act on either side of the lever, and holds the pressure-roller 40 against or away from the cylinder 2 in either position of the cylinder. To enable the impressions of the two cylinders to be brought into register, each cylinder 2 is connected to its driving pinion by means of a screw 55, Fig. 5, passing through a slot 59 in a disc 58 attached to the cylinder. The impression of the cylinder 1 is dried by a blotting- roller 50 co-operating with a driving-roller 49. A second blotting-device, comprising a blotting- roller 62, Fig. 4, and a driving-roller 61, is detachably mounted behind the printing-cylinder 2. The rollers 62, 61 are reversibly mounted in an oscillating plate, so as to adapt the device to the different positions of the cylinder. Each blotting- roller is detachably mounted on its spindle between a flange 78, having a pin 79, and a screw collar 80. The blotting-paper is secured on the roller by means of a blade 84, Fig. 8, which enters a slot in the roller and is held down by spring-controlled hooks 85.
