Abstract
224,054. Green, G. E. Sept. 27, 1923. Wire resistances, enclosed, cored.-An immersion heater comprises a heating element a formed on a comparatively thin flexible base b and only on that portion thereof which subsequently occupies the middle portion of the length of a flattened containing tube j, the tube being folded upon itself and having its ends mounted in a handle k forming the base of an electrical connector, the arrangement being such that the end portions of the tube comprising the major portion thereof are not heated directly by the heating element. A resistance wire a is wound on one end of each of two mica strips b joined together at one end by a metal clip c. Mica strips g, are arranged between and on the outside, of the elements before insertion into the tube j. The conducting wires e are threaded in and out through a longitudinal series of perforations in the strips b.
