Abstract

Wire resistances, mounted on grooved surfaces.-An electric liquid-heater comprises an outer tubular casing h and an inner tubular casing c within which is placed a number of resistance elements each having an unprotected heating wire wound backwards and forwards in longitudinal undercut grooves in an insulating support. These supports are assembled on a rod d, insulating discs b, for example, of mica being provided between each element. The elements may be connected in series or in parallel. Alternatively, the heating wires from each element may be connected to separate terminals, the wires being led through axial holes in the support provided for this purpose.
