Abstract
223,726. Buckingham, J. F., and Bowden, C. E. Oct. 11, 1923. Mooring.-A device for engaging a mooring- rope with a buoy or other anchoring-device comprises a hook A the mouth of which is moused by a spring-controlled member B pivoted at B' to the longer limb A<2> of the hook which also carries a ring A<5> to which the mooring-rope D is secured. The hook is attached and detached by means of a pole C which is inserted in the socket part of the member A<2> of the hook and thereby pushes back the spring-controlled member B which returns to its locking position when the pole C is withdrawn.
