Couplings, non - automatic. - In D shackles for colliery trams &c. the pin t is locked by a sliding catch e comprising a closed flat ring com pletely surrounding the flattened head b of the pin and adapted to be en gaged with and dis engaged from a hook f formed on the body a of the shackle, by a projection c' and shoulders c<2>, c<3> on the weighted pivoted handle c engaging respectively in a recess e<1> and with shoulders e<2>, e<3> formed in the catch e.
