Abstract

Doors.-Means for counterbalancing doorswhich turn on a horizontal axis, shown applied to an oven door 10, comprise a spring arm 14 secured to the oven 11 and co-operating with a projecting member 16 secured to the door, the spring being so shaped that it exerts a force proportional to the extent of opening, thus counterbalancing the weight of the door in all positions. The member 16 is integral with the pivot rod 12 of the door and is secured to the door at 17, a loose roller 18 being provided where it acts against the spring. An inturned end 21 on the spring supports the door when it is fullv open. The arrangement may be fitted at both sides of the door.
