Abstract
Mono- or unsymmetrical di-acylated diamines are prepared by acting on unsymmetrical di-substituted alkylene diamines with acid halides or anhydrides, if necessary in presence of an acid-binding agent; monoacylated diamines are obtained by heating an alkylene diamine, advantageously in excess, with an acid or an acid ester. The products are crystalline bodies or oils which do not distil at ordinary pressures. According to examples the following bodies are obtained:-(1) monoacetyl-unsym-diethylethylene diamine from the base and acetic acid and anhydride; (2) mono- and di-benzoyl-diethylethylene diamine from the base and benzoyl chloride, caustic soda solution, and ether; they are then converted into the nitrates and have an an sthetic effect; (3) linoleyl diethylethylene diamine from the base and oleic acid by heating in an autoclave; (4) mono- and di-stearylethylene diamine from the hydrate of the base and stearic acid; (5) mono- and di-oleyl ethylene diamine from the hydrate of the base and oleic acid; (6) a mixture of stearyl-, palmityl-, and oleylpropylene diamine by heating the base with olive oil; (7) oleyl-o -amino-N-ethylpiperidine; (8) stearyl-dimethylethylenediamine from the base and stearyl chloride.
