Abstract
215,053. Ingham, H. Jan. 25, 1923. Inductances. - An inductance is wound from a conductor formed by twisting two or more insulated wires loosely together. Air spaces c, Fig. 1 are thus formed between successive turns and between successive layers. The layers may be further separated by insulating strips e, Fig. 4, having rectangular perforations f. Successive layers may also be spaced by carrying the wire round the coil in zig-zag fashion after completing each layer and before commencing the next.
